Privacy Policy

This policy explains what RideMetrx collects, why, and the control you have over your data.

Effective: October 9, 2026

Overview

RideMetrx is a mountain bike suspension tracking app operated by VibeSoftware, LLC (“RideMetrx,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We built RideMetrx to help riders record, compare, and share their fork and shock setups. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect through the RideMetrx mobile app and related services (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication details. You may optionally provide a display name used on shared community content.
  • Bike & suspension data. The bikes you add, your fork and shock configurations, and the settings you record — compression and rebound clicks (HSC, LSC, HSR, LSR), spring pressure, tire PSI, setup names, notes, and change history.
  • Service records. Service intervals, reminders, and the ride hours or dates you log or that we calculate for your components.
  • Photos (Pro). Images you attach to settings or bikes.
  • Community content. Settings, trail/location tags, and other information you choose to share publicly with other riders.
  • Support communications. Information you send us when you contact support or send feedback.

Information collected automatically

  • Motion & sensor data (Metrx). When you record a Metrx session, we read your device's accelerometer and related motion sensors to measure trail roughness.
  • Location data. With your permission, we collect precise GPS location during rides and Metrx sessions to map trail segments, tag settings to trails, and compute ride metrics.
  • Device & usage data. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, and basic usage and diagnostic information.
  • Crash & performance data. Diagnostic logs that help us find and fix problems.

Information from third parties

  • Strava. If you connect your Strava account, we receive activity data you authorize — such as ride activities, durations, and timestamps — which we use to track component ride hours and service intervals. You can disconnect Strava at any time.
  • Apple / App Store. We receive subscription and purchase status for RideMetrx Pro from Apple, managed through RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full payment card details; payments are processed by Apple.

How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service and your account.
  • Store and sync your bikes, settings, and service history across your devices.
  • Calculate ride metrics, trail roughness scores, and A/B comparisons.
  • Track component usage and send service reminder notifications.
  • Power community features and let you share and import settings.
  • Manage RideMetrx Pro subscriptions and entitlements.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Service.
  • Monitor, debug, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

  • With other riders, when you choose to publish settings or trail tags to the community.
  • With service providers who host our infrastructure and process data on our behalf — including Google Firebase (hosting, database, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications) and RevenueCat (subscription management) — under agreements that limit their use of the data.
  • With Strava and Apple, as needed to provide the integrations and subscriptions you use.
  • For legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or VibeSoftware, LLC.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

Location & Sensor Data

Location and motion data are central to Metrx and trail features, so we treat them with care:

  • Location collection only happens with your operating-system permission, which you can revoke at any time in your device settings.
  • We use location to map ride and trail segments, attach settings to trails, and generate metrics.
  • Accelerometer and motion data are used to compute trail roughness during Metrx sessions.
  • If you share a setting to the community with a trail tag, the associated trail/location information becomes visible to other riders. Avoid tagging sensitive or private locations.

Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties whose own privacy policies govern their handling of your data, including:

  • Google Firebase — hosting, database, authentication, cloud sync, analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications.
  • RevenueCat — RideMetrx Pro subscription management.
  • Apple — app distribution, in-app purchases, and payment processing.
  • Strava — ride activity integration (optional).

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service you connect to RideMetrx.

Community Content

When you share a setting, it — along with any display name, bike, fork/shock details, and trail tags you include — may be viewable by other RideMetrx users. You control what you share and can remove shared settings. Content you have shared may persist in other users' imported copies even after you remove the original.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information as required for legal, security, dispute-resolution, or record-keeping purposes. When data is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

Your Choices & Rights

  • Access & correction. You can view and edit your bikes, settings, and profile in the app.
  • Location. Grant or revoke location access in your device settings.
  • Notifications. Turn service-reminder and other push notifications on or off in the app or device settings.
  • Strava. Disconnect your Strava account at any time to stop sharing activity data.
  • Deletion. Request deletion of your account and associated data (see below).
  • Data requests. Contact us to request a copy of your personal information or to exercise other applicable rights.

Deleting Your Account

You can request deletion of your account and personal data from within the app or by contacting us at support@vibesoftware.io. We will delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we are required or permitted to retain it. Content you previously shared to the community may remain in copies imported by other users.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

RideMetrx is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International Users

We operate in the United States, and your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing.

U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, or Virginia), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any available rights, contact us at support@vibesoftware.io. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
